Rental and insurance terms
SinoUY Uruguay S.A. · Updated on 22/09/2026
1. Scope of the service
These terms govern the rental of agricultural spraying equipment with drones, including the agricultural drone, mobile station and accessories provided by SinoUY Uruguay S.A. ("SinoUY") to the client who makes the booking. By hiring the service, the client accepts the operating conditions, responsibilities and cover set out below.
2. Insurance on the rented equipment
The rented equipment is covered for material damage occurring during the booking period, provided it is used according to SinoUY's instructions, the manufacturer's and the applicable rules. Cover includes flight accidents, overturning, fire and robbery. In a covered claim, the client pays an excess equal to 10 % of the replacement value of the damaged component.
Cover does not apply when the damage results from negligent use, operation by unlicensed people, flights outside the manufacturer's technical limits, operation in rain, winds above 8 m/s, a Kp index of 5 or higher, abandonment of the equipment or any breach of these terms.
3. Liability for the agricultural application
The choice of products, rates, mixes, spraying times, buffer distances and agronomic conditions is the client's sole responsibility. SinoUY is not liable for damage to third parties, neighbouring crops, watercourses, people, animals, facilities or property arising from chemical drift, incorrect dosing, unsuitable product choice or breach of current regulations.
The client declares that they know and comply with the rules of the MGAP, DINACIA, departmental ordinances and any other regulation applicable to agricultural spraying with drones.
4. The client's obligations during the rental
The client must operate the equipment only with people trained or authorised by SinoUY, follow the manufacturer's technical instructions, check weather and operating conditions before every flight, report any incident immediately, not transfer or sublet the equipment to third parties, and return it on the agreed date, place and condition, together with batteries, chargers, mobile station and the other accessories provided.
The tank, hoses and nozzles are returned clean and free of product residue. Cleanliness is checked in the return record and the client is liable for any damage or phytotoxicity the residue causes in the next application.
If the equipment is returned without being washed, a cleaning charge of USD 20 applies.
The generator is handed over with a full fuel tank and must be returned full. If it comes back without refuelling, a penalty equal to the cost of filling one and a half tanks is charged.
5. Flight conditions and geomagnetic activity
Before each operation, the client or operator must check the Kp index and the GNSS/RTK signal conditions. High geomagnetic activity can cause loss of accuracy, satellite positioning interference and autonomous navigation failures. For this reason, operating the drone with a Kp index of 5 or higher is forbidden. Flying under these conditions voids the equipment insurance cover and makes the client liable for any damage, loss or operational consequence.
6. Rescheduling for weather or non-operational conditions
When verifiable weather conditions prevent a safe operation — rain, wind above the allowed limit, poor visibility, a weather warning or a Kp index of 5 or higher — the rental day may be rescheduled at no operating cost. If the client holds a pass or day package, the unused day returns to their available balance.
7. Term, acceptance and jurisdiction
These terms apply from delivery of the equipment until its actual return. Booking confirmation, electronic signature, digital acceptance or any other means of validation reported by the client is fully valid between the parties. Any dispute is governed by the laws of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay and submitted to the competent courts of Montevideo, unless expressly agreed otherwise.
Rental contract and DAOD protocol
It sets out who may operate the equipment, what paperwork must be shown at pickup and how liability is shared between SinoUY and the renter, across the three options: drone only, full kit, and kit with a recommended pilot.
- Only a person with a current DINACIA DAOD licence may fly it.
- Applying pesticides also requires MGAP registration.
- SinoUY neither operates the equipment nor employs the pilot: if one is recommended, you hire and pay them directly.
- Without the paperwork at the pickup point, the equipment is not handed over.
